This is complemented with programme components such as walking, coaching, tai chi, Ayurveda, detox, surfing… Something for everyone. Outside of the retreat weeks, the rooms or the entire accommodation can be rented year round for holidays, by couples, families or groups of friends. At about a 20 minutes drive you will find some of the most beautiful sandy beaches this coastal strip has to offer. The house is completely self-sufficient, with electricity provided by solar panels on the roof and water from a well. This rural location is ideal for a peaceful holiday or (yoga) retreat. Several weeks per year we offer a yoga holiday or spiritual retreat in Milagro de Algar, each time with a different program. The house, built on the site of an old farmhouse, has two guest rooms, a large garden with a salt water (non-chlorinated) swimming pool, ample parking space, a wooden 'pyramid' house, a tipi and a jaima (a Moroccan tent), both also available as accomodation to stay in. The result is certainly a marvel (‘milagro’ in Spanish), considering the farmhouse was a veritable ruin years ago. A large roof terrace crowns the house and offers views of the surrounding hills and farmland. On a clear day the Moroccan hills are visible in the distance. Both on the roof terrace and on a separate platform in the garden there is space to practice yoga or meditation in peace and quiet, or to enjoy the sun. ^^^ To Top ^^^ About us We are Rebekka Noest and Bas Blij, a Dutch couple totally in love with Spain, especially Andalusia in the south and in particular the province of Cadiz. This is a province of Andalusia where mass tourism hasn’t gotten a foothold, and much of the traditional southern Spanish life and the untouched beauty of nature there is still preserved. After many summers in Vejer de la Frontera, and after 10 years of running a health center for complementary medicine in the Netherlands (Sarvata), we decided to start a retreat center for yoga and spiritual vacations in this beautiful area. Rebekka is a psychologist, haptotherapist and energy therapist. She has her own practice, where she specializes in the treatment of trauma, stress related problems and haptotherapy. This is a therapy that emphasizes the importance of contact with your feelings, your body, and with other people, and does this through therapeutic touch and experiential exercises. This with the aim of getting in touch with and understanding your own feelings and patterns, and to develop yourself in this way. Bas Blij studied physics and worked for ten years in secondary school, after which he chose to become a yoga teacher. After 6 years as a yoga teacher, he dedicated his energy to setting up and managing Sarvata together with Rebekka. After handing over Sarvata to two enthusiastic successors in January 2021, Bas has been able to focus more and more on the creation, from the foundation to the solar panels, of the ‘El Milagro de Algar’ project. ^^^ To Top ^^^ Retreats We organize yoga and spiritual retreats. Each retreat has a changing program, consisting of daily yoga classes, meditation and massages. Depending on the theme of the retreat week, the program will be supplemented with components such as mindfulness, tantra, female empowerment, detox and healthy nutrition, and if desired coaching or (hapto)therapy. We only work with professionals: yoga teachers, (massage) therapists, of whom we know they work expertly and purely. Often these are people from the network we built in the 10 years that we ran the health centre Sarvata in The Netherlands. Just like at Sarvata, our former health centre in The Netherlands, we continue our vision of working with different professionals specializing in each of these therapies, making the retreats holistic, interesting and more enriching for everyone. The masterbedroom has a private bathroom, the big and small guestroom share a bathroom and for the cabin and tents there is a outside toilet/shower with hot water.
